Causes to Support:
The Work Activity Center is a diverse organization that supports a wide array of our client’s needs. If you would like to make a donation to support a particular cause or aspect of our programming you may use the donate now button and specify any of the following causes to which your donation can be applied. You are not required to specify a cause in order to donate to the Center.
Our recreation department provides clients with access to activities that their disabilities would otherwise be a barrier to participating in. These activities include swimming, horseback riding, downhill skiing, whitewater rafting, camping trips and outings to sporting events. Our recreation program also works with interns from the University of Utah to design and implement exercise programs for our clients. For this cause we need help purchasing adaptive exercise equipment and funding recreation outings. To support this program, enter Recreation Department in the causes field of the Donation Form.
Clients participate in pre-vocational skills building as part of our day training program. In this program clients learn skills to properly interact with customers, operate a cash register, and develop sorting and sequencing skills. The goal of this program is to help clients that are interested in working gain the skills that are necessary to succeed in the workplace. For this cause we currently need help purchasing supplies for pre-vocational training kits. To support this program, enter Pre-Vocational in the causes field of the Donation Form.
At the Work Activity Center we strive to provide our clients access to all of the resources that Salt Lake City has to offer. Our Arts Access program includes outings to local arts events, and bringing local artists in to our facility in order to teach arts classes and supervise projects amongst our clients. This program needs funds in order to purchase supplies, pay for teachers, and access community arts events. To support this program, enter Arts Access in the causes field of the Donation Form.
For those with extreme developmental disabilities merely interacting with their environment can be a struggle. For these clients we provide focused sensory experiences, which stimulate the brain and are an avenue for their growth and development. We are constantly seeking new ways to meet this need. We currently are in need of funds to purchase specialized sensory equipment and lighting for our sensory rooms.
Sorry, no refunds.
