Covenant Employment Services is a non-profit organization whose mission is to assist individuals with disabilities to increase independence by overcoming work related barriers. We are seeking to hire an employment specialist in Salt Lake area who will assist our customers with developing job skills, job searching, interviewing, and finding and maintaining meaningful employment.

SCHEDULE
Part-time position with a flexible schedule (afternoon, nights, and some of the hours need to be on the weekend) working up to 30 hours per week

Starting pay is $12.00-14.00 hr, depending upon experience


The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, extremely organized, has the ability to pay close attention to detail, and will maintain a working knowledge of the needs of each assigned customer. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Job development
- Maintain an active caseload and regularly schedule appointments with all assigned customers
- Assist individuals with resume/cover letter writing and interview skills before and during the job search. 
- Familiarize job seekers with job site, employer, supervisors and co-workers
- Train in all aspects of the job, including breaks, lunch and transportation
- Assist with obtaining any and all supports that may be needed to maintain employment, including modifications of the work-space to enable the individual to perform assigned duties
- Serve as an ongoing liaison between the individual, co-workers, and employer after the initial on-the-job training has ended to ensure that all parties are satisfied

QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or GED required; Associates degree preferred
- Valid Utah driver's license
- Clean driving record (no major violations, 2 or fewer minor traffic violations)
- At least 21 years of age
- Able to pass a background check and drug screening

Community Employment Program Coordinator

The Work Activity Center provides opportunities for employment, independent living, and social interaction to adults with developmental disabilities. We are seeking an experienced Community Employment Program Coordinator that would supervise and coordinate activities of Work Activity Center staff and volunteers and individuals receiving services. 

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:30 am- 5 pm

Starting salary: $17.00 -18.50 per hour, depending upon experience

Required Qualifications
- 2 years of  higher education completed and currently enrolled in a four-year college or university  OR Bachelors degree from a four-year college or university is preferred.
-One to two years related experience/and or training.
-A qualified candidate must be at least 21 years old to operate Center vehicles
-Maintain a valid Utah driver’s license and clean driving record. Required to safely drive a vehicle.
-Competency in Microsoft Word and Excel programs
-Must be able to stand, walk, sit, and lift 50 pounds or ¼ of his/her body weight.

Responsibilities
-Directly supervisors up to 20 employees
-Assigns caseloads and related duties, and coordinates activities of staff.
-Communicate individual issues with parent/guardian, residential staff, and support coordinator.
-Reviews and evaluates performance of staff members.  Conducts employee evaluations.
-Ensures that all documentation related to individuals and their program is current and consistent with policies and procedures.
-Attends all intake and annual meetings for individuals. Serves as an advocate for individuals.
-Participates in developing and implementing agency administrative policy.
-Ensures proper supervision of participants at all times.
-Reviews all written documents related to individuals to ensure that they are completed to standards.
-Maintains financial records.
-Prepares and presents necessary information for review by the Human Rights Committee.
-Trains new employees. Provides in-service training for experienced workers.

Residential Services Coordinator

STATUS: Full-time
SALARY: $18.50/hr, depending upon experience

This is a full-time position and includes paid holidays, paid time off, medical, dental, and life insurance, and a retirement plan.


SCHEDULE: This is a position that requires flexibility.  The Coordinator supervises homes of adults with disabilities that run in the evenings, graveyards, early morning and weekends.  Therefore, a majority of hours worked per week will be spent in the homes in this frame. Duties also include meetings, doctors’ appointments for clients, and other scheduled activities during the day Monday-Friday.

We are seeking an experienced manager to oversee our residential and supported living department which serves adults with intellectual and physical disabilities. The Residential Services Coordinator is responsible for assuring that all residential services are of the highest quality and meet the individual needs of each client.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plans and directs the execution, improvement, and expansion of residential services
- Assures an adequate level of support and an appropriate home for each person receiving services
- Oversees Residential Supervisors in their role of ensuring that that the daily living, social, and medical needs of clients are met
- Provides oversight to ensure that apartments and furnishings remain clean and well-maintained
- Coordinates with residential supervisors to ensure that staff are appropriately and adequately trained and that they adhere to company policies and procedures
- Supervises, evaluates, and disciplines staff. Addresses issues within Residential Department.
- Assures effective and open communication within the residential services program and between the residential and day services programs

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelors degree
- Two years of successful management experience in a related field
- Previous work experience supervising a team of employees
- Previous work or volunteer experience as a direct caregiver

Billing Specialist

The Work Activity Center is a non-profit service center committed to enriching the lives of people with disabilities. We are seeking an experienced administrative professional that can operate at a high level of accuracy as well as use problem solving skills to maintain the company’s client attendance records, monthly billing records, and client pay record keeping.

STATUS: Part-time

SCHEDULE: Monday- Friday, day-time hours 20-25 hours

SALARY: $12-14/hr, depending upon experience

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Billing Specialist:

1. Ensures that records of client attendance are maintained. Inputs attendance record into tracking documents. Prepares monthly billing for all client services.

2. Ensures that records regarding client payroll are maintained. Helps to complete monthly client payroll.

3. Assists with maintaining filing system for client documents, ensuring that files are organized and accessible to the appropriate individuals.

4. Problem solves and works to resolve inconsistencies that arise in client attendance records.

5. Problem solves and works to resolve issues that arise when client billing is electronically submitted.

6. When needed, assists with inputting data for payroll for employees.

7. Accurately updates and prepares reports as needed.

8. Performs clerical functions that include filing, answering phones, data entry, copying, scanning, sorting, and faxing as needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

-High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Preference is give Preference is given to candidates that have post high school education. Minimum two years’ experience working with spreadsheets, inputting and maintaining documentation systems.

- Communicate effectively and efficiently in both spoken and written English.

-Demonstrated proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Word. Must have previous experience implementing tracking systems with these programs. Must be able to type at least 50 wpm accurately

- Must be in good physical condition and able to stand for long periods, kneel, bend at the waist, and lift and carry at least 25 pounds.

- This employee is required to drive for the Work Activity Center as needed. To be qualified to driver for the Center, an employee must be at least 21 years old, have a current Utah Driver’s License, and have no more than 2 minor citations on driving record in the last 3 years.

Driver

The Work Activity Center delivers residential, employment, and daily activity assistance to enrich the lives of people with disabilities. Our activities and services promote individual growth and independence in the lives of our program participants. We have an immediate need for a part-time or full-time driver who will operate a mini bus and transport our clients to the day activity center in the morning.

Adult Community Residential Manager

We provide individualized support to people with disabilities to reach personalized and meaningful goals through day activity programs, employment services, and residential supports.

We are seeking an Apartment Manager who has experience in the Human Services field supporting people in residential settings.  This is a great opportunity to positively impact the lives of the people we serve by helping to implement improvements and help maintain the quality of life of our residents. The Apartment Manager ensures that all aspects of the residential program are performed according to standard and that residents' physical, medical, and social needs are met. 

Schedule: Full-time; Afternoons, evenings, and weekends; the ability have a flexible schedule is required. This program is located near the Valley Fair Mall in West Valley City

Starting Salary: $16.50 per hour, plus $500 signing bonus

The Apartment Manager fulfills the following duties:

- Schedules employees work time.  Fills in employee's shifts as needed.

-Schedules and assures adherence to all daily routines and activities for individuals receiving services.

- Assists the Residential Coordinator in maintaining training for all employees.  Maintains own personal training.

- Develops and documents individuals programs for assigned individuals.  Assures all necessary paperwork including but not limited to data collection (programmatic and medication tracking), petty cash, fire drills, monthly safety check off list, and doctor visit reports are completed

-Ensures all medical and dental appointments and reviews are made and accompanies the individuals to the necessary appointments.

-Participates in and supervises other residential trainers to assist residents with food preparation, house-keeping, shopping, community inclusion, monitoring of health needs, personal hygiene and money management

- Attends meetings as needed including Annual meetings, Human Rights Committee, supervisor training meetings, etc.

-Creates a weekly housekeeping schedule. Assigns and oversees staff in cleaning apartment.

-Provides direct supervision for other employees working for the residents.

 

Requirements:   

- Bachelor’s degree related to human or social services.

-Two to five year’s related experience in the human services field. Education may be substituted on a two for one basis.

- At least 21 years of age

- Ability to communicate effectively in both written and spoken English

PROGRAM MANAGER - ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Monitor and manage program involving a caseload of participants

Director of Programs and Services

This Director is responsible for assuring that all programmatic services achieve the mission of the Work Activity Center. They also assure that employee training programs equip staff with the knowledge, skills and abilities needed to deliver high quality services.

 

Status: Full- time

Compensation:  $50,000-55,000+ DOE  plus benefits that include medical, dental and life insurance, retirement benefits, paid time off, and paid holidays.

Schedule: This is an administrative position which requires flexibility-primarily the work is during day hours but some evening and weekend could occur.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

-         In conjunction with the Executive Director, implements programmatic aspects of the Center’s strategic plan approved by the board of Trustees

-         Establishes short and long term goals and objectives and implements strategies for achieving those goals and objectives so that the Center is constantly improving the quality of its programs.

-         Identifies and communicates to direct subordinates the expectations for the quality of the programs that they oversee.

-         Oversees the work of direct subordinates to assure that the programs they supervise are in keeping with the Center’s mission, operate according to policy and procedure, and meet the needs of individual program participants.

-         Assures that the Center is prepared to demonstrate services to new clients and that appropriate strategies are used to showcase the Center’s quality programs in an effort to attract new clients.

-         Knows and understands contractual requirements and government regulations and assures that mid-level management are trained, knowledgeable, and operate in compliance to these requirements and regulations.

-         Assess, evaluates, and critiques Center programs, identifies weaknesses and strengths, and implements strategies for eliminating weaknesses and capitalizing on strengths.

-         Effectively selects, trains, supervises, and evaluates direct subordinates, and assures the effective selection, training, supervision, and evaluation of indirect subordinates.

Residential Apartment Lead

The Apartment Lead fulfills the following duties

-Teaches and trains individuals receiving services to do as much as they can for themselves.

-Creates weekly menus and completes grocery shopping in accordance with the menu.

- Indirectly supervises 5-7 employees in the assigned Residential section.

- Routinely trains staff members on data collection, menu planners, medication logs, and all other job requirements.

- Schedules and assures adherence to all daily routines and activities for individuals receiving services.

-Implements programs such as community and home based activities, money management including creating a list of needs and wants for the individuals receiving services, spend down shopping, and maintains petty cash fund.

Requirements:
